Office of DVC F&A

The Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance & Administration serves as Secretary to the University Council and its boards and provides leadership, guidance, coordination and direction to the five (5) directorates within this division.

The office bearer coordinates preparation of financial statements, budgets, reports and auditing of university income and expenditure for presentation to management and boards for approval.

The office also liaises with financial institutions such as banks, relevant government offices, suppliers, creditors, students, staff and faculty/department on various management and technical issues. It is also responsible for developing and implementing all fiscal, administrative policies and appropriate procedures to ensure common understanding in the performance of duties and responsibilities and aligning them to the university’s strategic plan.

The jobholder also constantly monitors the operations’ directions in line with the strategic plan of the university and ensures that each department has easy access to policies and procedures to ensure continued service delivery. The office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance & Administration presently has the following units serving under it.

The DVC’s office also oversees: Resource mobilization; Investment; Human Resource Management; Security; Estates and Works; and Procurement. Accordingly, the second DVC monitors the Finance Department, the Planning and Development Department, and the Security Department, among others.
