We are delighted to share the successful conclusion of the recent visit by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) to Kumi University. Over the course of three days from 27th to 29th August 2024, NCHE officials conducted a thorough review of our operations, including verifying our documents, meeting with staff and students, and touring our facilities. We are proud to announce their positive findings, which affirm our commitment to excellence in higher education.
Key Highlights of NCHE’s Assessment:
- Curriculum Accreditation: All 36 programs offered at Kumi University are fully accredited by NCHE, as reflected on their official website.
- Land Ownership: The university owns 109 acres of land, providing a solid foundation for future growth.
- Optimal Learning Environment: Our location has been praised as ideal for fostering learning and development.
- Robust Infrastructure: Kumi University boasts well-established infrastructure to support both academic and extracurricular activities.
- Enhanced Security: CCTV cameras are installed in key areas across the campus, ensuring the safety and security of our community.
- Safety Measures: Fire extinguishers are readily available throughout the campus.
- State-of-the-Art Auditorium: Our multipurpose Truth Auditorium, with a capacity of over 1,000 occupants, serves as a key asset for events and lectures.
- Accessibility: We have installed ramps in several buildings to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
- High-Speed Internet: Our campus is equipped with high-speed internet (50Mbps), accessible in major areas to enhance the learning experience.
- Effective Human Resources: Our human resource management is well-structured and efficient.
- Motivated Leadership: The management team, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Hong Sekee, is highly motivated and dedicated.
- Staff Appraisal System: We maintain a comprehensive staff appraisal system to ensure continuous improvement.
- Transparent Salary Structure: A clear and fair salary structure is in place.
- Library Management: Our library system is well-managed, with most resources directly relevant to our courses.
- Clear Organizational Structure: Our university organogram clearly delineates responsibilities, from the Chancellor to all governing bodies.
- Active University Council: The University Council is actively involved in overseeing all university processes, with student representation in both the Council and Senate.
- Tracer Study: We conduct tracer studies to monitor the success and impact of our alumni.
