HE. Ha Byung-Kyoo the ambassador of South Korea to Uganda was warmly welcomed to Kumi University on Friday
12th April 2019. As Kumi University look forward to set all the requirements for the acquisition of the chatter, HE. Ha made it a point to visit the University to ascertain the readiness status of the University for the same, make discussions with the administration and communicate with students. In His communication, HE. Byung-Kyoo assured the University of his full participation, provision of the needed support including political if need be. Before his visit, the Embassy of South Korea denoted a number of Desktop computers to University, which computers are currently being installed in Social Sciences Faculty Computer Lab beef-up the University for the above mission.
He also said, his Government will establish a technical institute within Kumi University and so he is in talks with the Government of Uganda to bring this vision to a success. He also informed the University that he as been in touch with Hon. Janet Museveni, the Minister of Education and Sports asking the Government of Uganda to support Korean efforts in developing Uganda .
With the support of the ambassador alongside all other preparations, Kumi University is geared to attaining a chatter status this year.
