On Friday 15th/03/2019, Kumi University got to position two in there group after wining a 3-2 way match against Kampala International University at Kataka playground. The game was hard in both halves since it was a sequence of goals scored in second half.
This was the last game of the first leg for University football league this season that fetched Kumi University the first win of this year’s tournament after drawing 1-1 against Busitema University, losing against Kyambogo University 0-1 and beating KIU 2-3 at away.
The interim coach for Kumi University, Mr. Ojedde Morris appreciated the players for the tiresome work they deed and not forgetting the University management for facilitating the match.
These results made every member of the university happy and this portrayed to the whole country that Kumi University exists not by name but by every kind of competition not participating. The university as whole is impressed of these tremendous results for the university.

The group is competitive since every team is capable of qualifying for the next stage of the league and everybody knows this as the hardest group of the university football league because of the defending champions Kyambogo University.
On Friday 29th/03/2019, Kumi University will be hosting Kampala International University for the first game of the return leg where we shall expect the university to win in order to secure the position or move to the next position. The players have yesterday started serious training a head of KIU.
